Mothmen

Between the beating wings of a moth
At the end of a rainbow
Inside dead man’s heart
Outside the known Universe

Lies a kingdom without a king
Filled with war cries
And smeared with imagination
This fleeting realm lasts but a second

But in that space of time,
Coming from an eternity of hopes
Outliving time, breaking beyond space,
Creatures come forth; Creatures from beyond

In every wink of an eye
They pour forth in billions
To perish instantly
But not before the mischief is done

Grotesque and dismal
They spin our world
In myriad emotions
And varied hues

They are not to be seen
By a naked eye, or otherwise
But you can hear their glee
In a tortured soul’s cry

Everything the eye perceives
Every emotion we feel
Is their creation as they endlessly spin
Our world around us

Every creature is unique
Never to be born again
They care not for survival
They just spin once and die

Fool is a man who thinks
The world is under him
And he is the master of emotion
Only the very wise know

It’s the Mothmen
That fill us and make us
That fill the world and make it visible
But for them we are inexistent!
